Once students are in their groups, with supplies, and general directions are given, they are on their own for doing their runs.

You can be creative with what they are sampling, but this label helps with misconceptions, such as that fossil fish have their own half lives, borderlands 2 multiplayer matchmaking and not the carbon in them. This is such a common standardized test subject, so it's worth covering well. Here is a good version of a half-life lab using pennies in shoe boxes. These will help the students with their activity. Good way to review the main geological and biological characteristics of the Eras.
